In the latest instalment of our Meet the Team series, we sat down with Sarah Dore, Partner Support Manager at myprosperity.

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I head up the partner support team here at myprosperity. We’re a growing team of four who are on call to help our partners with any technical enquiries they might have. The most satisfying part of my role is helping partners & their clients and hearing their excitement once everything is in place within the portals.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family & friends, and listening to live music.

When did you join myprosperity? Where were you before?

I joined myprosperity on the 15th of January this year – best decision I have ever made! Prior to that, I was a personal banker & trainer with ANZ on the Mornington Peninsula.

What would you say is the top trend to watch out for in the accounting and financial planning industries?

Not a trend per se, but I would say the shift we’re seeing in the financial industry at the moment with the Royal Commission, and the increased compliance requirements that will come of it, are going to have a fundamental impact on how the industry delivers services to clients.

What would you say is the most overrated trend?

One of the most frustrating things we see is partners essentially paying twice for the same service from two different technology providers. For example, myprosperity supports digital document signing as part of the Partner Plus plan yet a number of our partners don’t use it, because they’re using a separate document signing solution elsewhere.

The Plus Plan offers a number of other benefits beyond document signing, but it doesn’t change the fact that they’re doing double the work when they could be just sending documents to clients through their wealth portal, automating reminders, and storing them securely all in the one place.

What’s a little known fact about Sarah?

Not exactly a little known fact, but I am a huge country music fan. The team asked me to pick my favourite artist; if I had to name three (I couldn’t pick just one) they would be Lee Brice, Caitlyn Shadbolt & Dustin Lynch.

Quick Round:

  • Biggest pet peeve? Bad footwear
  • Favourite sport? Horse riding
  • Favourite food? Wine and Cheese (Yes, they do have to go together)

What is your favourite myprosperity feature?

My favourite feature is absolutely To-Dos. I use them all the time! They help keep my extremely busy life on track.
